Finnish Real Estate Agents’ Association website and intranet

The Finnish Real Estate Agents’ Association (SKVL) is a non-profit organisation with a mission to enable safe and lawful property transactions. Through SKVL’s member network, those looking to change homes can access local, responsible experts who provide all the necessary legal information to find a home securely. SKVL also serves as a legislative advocate, advisor, and ensures ethical conduct among its member entrepreneurs in the industry.

Web service integrations

The SKVL’s new membership registry was integrated into the web service to make it easy to find real estate agents and agencies with up-to-date information. All data displayed on the site about agents is retrieved from the member registry. Additionally, information on agent reviews from another service is fetched and included in agent profiles.

The most extensive update to the web service involved integrating SKVL agents’ property listings into the site. Through this integration, all properties for sale and rent—including houses, plots, farmland, and garages—are imported onto the website, with a quick filtering feature for users. The integration also enabled the creation of region-specific landing pages (e.g., “Houses for Sale in Helsinki”). A fast search and filtering function was developed alongside the property listings.

Furthermore, the system pulls in the listing agent’s contact information, ensuring inquiries about properties go directly to the correct real estate agents. Users can also view listings in a map view, with special attention given to mobile functionality.

The web service project began with a conceptualisation workshop and technical specification in April 2022. The first version of the web service was launched at the beginning of July, marking the start of the project’s second phase, which involved the technical implementation of the intranet. Redandblue has long collaborated with SKVL in the areas of analytics and digital marketing, and this work continues with the new web service, now even more efficiently.

The new web service is reaching target audiences more effectively than before. Post-launch, the number of visitors has seen a significant increase, with substantial growth particularly in organic traffic.
