Pharmia’s new brand identity and digital service

Pharmia Oy is Finland’s leading contract manufacturer specialized in the development and production of dietary supplements and medical devices.

Starting points and objectives for the renewal

Pharmia Oy is a European leader in the development and manufacturing of dietary supplements and medical devices (CE-marked products), specialized as a Finnish contract manufacturer.

The goal of Pharmia’s website renewal was to create an easy-to-use, clear, and responsive digital service that would support the company’s business and serve as the most important tool for sales and marketing. The old website no longer adequately supported the growing business, and the renewal also aimed to improve the presentation of the service process and enhance content management.

At the same time, the new digital service was expected to better reflect Pharmia’s brand and provide users with a pleasant experience across different devices. It was important that the site be easy to update and communicate the services clearly.

Renewal of the visual identity

A comprehensive renewal was initiated with the update of the brand identity in spring 2024, which laid the foundation for the website redesign that began later in autumn 2024. The main objective of the brand identity renewal was to create a more industry-relevant, modern, and distinctive look that would communicate Pharmia’s core values: expertise, reliability, and innovation.

The process began with clarifying the brand strategy through workshops, where redandblue and Pharmia’s teams collaborated in Miro. Through various tasks, the brand’s essence was explored and the visual framework was mapped. The workshops also identified Pharmia’s key competitive advantages: proactive product development in the dietary supplements and medical devices segments, deep industry expertise, and a customer-oriented partnership approach.

In the visual identity development phase, a new logo more strongly tied to the industry was designed, a new brand-enhancing typography was selected, and a fresh color palette was created for the company. Regarding the illustration concept, the type of visual material to be used in Pharmia’s communications was defined, and as part of the guidelines, an action plan for producing image material was prepared.

New pharmia.fi

After the renewal of the brand identity, it was time to make the brand visible online. We began with a concept workshop and definition work for the digital service, which was refined as the plans progressed. The previous website was considered outdated and no longer served clients or end users. Redandblue and Pharmia’s teams worked closely together to define the goals of the digital service, target groups, and the most important user journeys. The workshops created a clear understanding of what kind of website would best support Pharmia’s business.

The sitemap and key content types were defined to support the meaningful presentation of various content such as services, products, and news. In the technical specification of the website, a detailed plan for user interface functionalities and a testing plan were created, ensuring a high-quality end result.

The main focus of the renewal was to achieve a clear structure both in terms of content and appearance. The website’s goal is particularly to attract new customers and serve existing ones, which is why clarity, quality, site speed, and highlighting Pharmia’s expertise were seen as key areas for development.

Solution description

Pharmia’s new digital service was implemented on the WordPress platform, which enables easy content management and flexibility for future needs. The modular structure of the site provides Pharmia’s staff with the tools to manage and edit content independently. The site also supports multilingual versions, an important feature for a company engaged in international operations.

Visually, the site is fresh, professional, and aligned with Pharmia’s renewed brand identity. The user interface has been designed to be intuitive and easy to navigate, enhancing user experience and encouraging longer visits to the site.

From idea to product

We implemented an interactive block on Pharmia’s website that allows the end user to quickly understand how the process from idea to final product progresses with Pharmia. The content provides a clear overview of the project’s stages—both verbally and visually. By clicking on a process step in the accordion menu, the corresponding stage of the process opens. It was a pleasure to work on this project with you – thank you, and positive feedback has been pouring in from all directions. Pharmia’s board is particularly delighted with the new look, which is of course rewarding and enjoyable.
