Editkilpailu new website

Editkilpailu is a competition organized by Aikakausmedia, where the best professionals and productions in the magazine media industry are recognized annually in both editorial and marketing categories. The purpose of the competition is to highlight the industry’s diverse achievements and to encourage the development of even higher-quality magazine journalism, advertising, and business solutions.

Redandblue had the opportunity to renew the Editkilpailu website in spring 2023.

Starting point of the website renewal

Editkilpailu was renewing its visual identity, and at the same time, the look of the website needed to be updated. An open-source platform was desired, and WordPress proved to be an excellent choice for editkilpailu.fi.

The new visual identity served as the basis for the website design. The required functionalities had already been carefully mapped, so the overall scope was clear from the outset.

Editkilpailu website was renewed on a tight schedule

We kicked off the project at full speed in mid-March 2023, and the site was launched already in May. The entire project took only about two months, with three weeks allocated for technical development. Thanks to solid planning, the project stayed on schedule despite the fast pace, and the site was launched even earlier than expected.

The outcome of the website renewal

The Editkilpailu website was transformed into a modern entity in line with the new visual identity. The site includes functionality that makes it easy to organize, for example, a cover vote, allowing end users to vote for their favorite directly through a site form. You can now explore the winners of spring 2023 — and the renewed website itself.
